BECI (Bell Center to Illinois) Transmission line project

A 765kV transmission line will be part of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), the Regional Transmission Organization that covers much of the upper Midwest and parts of the central United States.   MISO selected Midcontinent Grid Solutions (MGS) to build the line.

The final route will be determined by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC).   It is expected that MGS will submit their plans to the PSC in early 2027.

Visit the project website which now includes the proposed routes.

See an overview of the proposed transmission line routes and projected timeline on the BECI Factsheet.

The transmission lines will include 150 feet to 200 feet tall structures spaced approximately 1,200 feet apart.
