Potential Individual Assistance for recent storm damage

2026 Citizen FAQ PDA after a disaster

At this time, the State of Wisconsin has requested federal assistance, and damage information reported by residents will help determine whether additional recovery programs may become available. It is critical that residents report any storm or flooding damage they sustained by calling 2-1-1.

Residents should call 2-1-1 to report:

  • Home or property damage
  • Flooding impacts
  • Basement flooding
  • Damage to personal property
  • Business losses or closures
  • Farm-related damages
  • Accessibility or functional needs caused by storm impacts

Reporting damage does not guarantee assistance, but it is one of the most important steps in documenting the full impact across our communities and helps determine whether residents may qualify for future recovery assistance if approved.

The more complete our damage picture is, the stronger our case for potential assistance.

Attached is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document that can help residents better understand the reporting process, what Individual Assistance may include, and why calling 2-1-1 is so important.
