US 18 and CTH G Roundabout meeting

Public meeting scheduled for US 18 and County G intersection in Jefferson County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements at the US 18 and County G intersection in the Town of Oakland, Jefferson County.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Town of Oakland Town Hall, N4450 County A, Oakland. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.

The purpose of this project is to improve the vehicle safety at the intersection of US 18 and County G to address the existing high rate on angle crashes and high number of injury crashes that are occurring at the intersection. The project is being funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) due to these existing safety deficiencies. The proposed improvement at the intersection is a single-lane roundabout. As part of the US 18 construction, an existing box culvert about 4,000 feet west of the intersection will also be replaced.

Adjacent property owners are encouraged to attend the meeting. If unable to attend or for more information contact WisDOT Project Manager Mike Rampetsreiter at (608) 246-7917, [email protected]. Written comments can be mailed to Mike Rampetsreiter at 2101 Wright Street, Madison WI 53704.

Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Mike Rampetsreiter at least three working days prior to the meeting.
